Industrial Consortia

On this page you will find information and links related to the various industrial or industrial-academic consortia operational to address different issues facing the electronics, electronics communication and embedded systems industries. Some of the main areas in which they work are also listed.

I discussed in short about their roles and contribution to research and education in an earlier post of mine here.

  • Accellera: – SystemC, Transaction Level Modeling (TLM), System Level IP Integration, Mixed Signal Design and Verification, System Level Verification, Verilog-AMS, Unified Power Format (UPF) etc.
  • SRC : Semiconductor Research Corporation – Semiconductor Technology, Microelectronics, Nanoelectronics, Energy Research, Microelectronics Education
  • SPRINT: Software Platform for Integration of Engineering and Things – Complex Engineering Systems, Software Engineering, Hardware Design
  • EDAC: EDA Consortium – Electronic Design Automation tools and services
  • iNEMI: International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative – Electronics Manufacturing, Miniaturization, Medical Electronics Manufacturing
  • ITRS: International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors – Electronics Design, Verification, Testing, Semiconductor Technology
  • ARTEMIS: Research in embedded computing systems, focused primarily on Europe
  • Mentor Graphics Foundry Solutions: An excellent reference on IC manufacturing variability issues for different technology nodes; how to work closely with foundries etc.
  • IPC: Industry association for issues related to printed circuit board and electronics manufacturing
